How to Reach

  • By Road: Manali is very well connected by buses and cabs to all major north Indian cities including Delhi (550 Km), Chandigarh (310 km), Shimla (300 Km) and Tambala (300 km). You get buses / cabs to Manali. 
  • By Rail: The closest railheads are at Chandigarh (310 km) and Ambala (300 km). You get buses / cabs to Manali. It takes around 8 hrs.
  • By Air: Bhuntar, which is 50 km away from Manali, is the nearest airport. Delhi is the major nearest airport, which is about 565 km away from Manali. Delhi airport is well connected with all major cities in India and many cities abroad. Also you can walk to the rafting spot from the Bhuntar airport which is around 5-6 Km away.

Day 01: Arrival Delhi 

Day 02: Travel from Chandigarh to Solang Valley through Kullu and Manali. 

Day 03: Rest Day at Solang Valley 

Day 04: Solang - Dhundi - 3 hrs trek 

Day 05: Dhundi - Bakkar Thach 

Day 06: Trek to Beas Kund 

Day 07: Beas Kund-Bakkar Thach: back via same route.

Day 08: Bakkar Thach - Solang Nala – Manali


The ancient Indians called the Beas River as Vipas or Arjiki while the ancient Greeks called it as Hyphasis. The current name Beas is regarded as formed from Vyas who is the author of Mahabharata, the great Indian epic, however some scholars in Himachal Pradesh call this river as Vipasha. 

Beas Kund - Beas so named after Rishi (Sage) Beas and Kund is Hindi word for tiny lake. This tiny lake of Beas Kund situated at higher and upper valley of Solang. Which is the heart of winter and summer games in Manali. 

It’s an ideal base camp for climbing nearby peaks Shitidhar, friendship and Ladakhi peak. The West side of Beas Kund is magnificent peak of Hanman Tibba 5990m, which access through tiny pass of above this lake. 

Beas Kund trek is one of the most popular and beautiful trek in Kullu Valley. Beas Kund is a holy lake where Rishi Vyas took his daily bath. River Beas originates from here. Solang Nalla base camp is 13 km from Manali and 1 hour drive, a popular place for tourists for ski slopes, para gliding etc. Dhundhi camp gives first glimpse of Mt. Hanuman Tibba and Seven Sisters. Beas Kund area might be full of snow at the time of this trek. This is enjoyable and easy going trek for any age group.

Day 01: Manali – Solang – Dhundi (20km) Bakar Thach 3300m
early morning after breakfast transfer to Dhundi. This is the starting point of the trek. Same day you will start your trek from Dhundi to Bakar Thach it’s an uphill walk for about 4 to 5 hours. Overnight stay in the camp.

Day 02: Bakar Thach to Beas Kund 3600m
Early morning after breakfast start your trek towards Beas Kund. It’s a 3 to 4 hours walk before we reach the Beas Kund Glacier. After having lunch and spending some time at the top you can start heading back towards the camp Bakar Thach or camp at Beas Kund.

Day 03 : Bakar Thach – Dhundi – Solang – Manali
Early morning after breakfast start walking down towards Dhundi and take the transport from Dhundi to Manali. Evening in leisure. Overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 04: Manali – Nagar – Manali
After breakfast start your local sightseeing to Nagar it is 21 km from manali. This is the starting of Parvati valley. Visit the Nagar Castle and the Rorich art gallery. After lunch drive back to Manali and spend the rest of the afternoon in leisure. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 05: Manali – Rohtang Pass 3970m
After breakfasts start your sightseeing tour to Rohtang pass it is 50 km from Manali. This is the first & lowest pass between manail; leh Highway. From rohtang pass you can have the view of C.B.Ranges. One can do different activities like Skiing, Snow Carting, and Horse riding. In the evening we return back to Manali. Overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 06 : Manali
Have an easy morning go for a local sightseeing tour which includes Tibetan monastery, Van Vihar, Hadimba temple, Old Manali, Manu Temple and Vashist enjoy the sulfur water bath in Vashist. In the evening go for stroll in the market. Overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 07: Manali – Manikaran (87km)
After having breakfast start drive towards Manikarn which is about 3 hours drive from Manali. On the way you will drive through the apple orchards of Kullu Valley, Bhunter and Kasol. Visit the Gurudwara and sulfur water springs. Today you have option to stay either in Manikaran, Kullu or Manali.
